Torri Erdman, a senior at SCA has been named a February Young American. The Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Daily Item sponsor the Young American Program. The Young American Program recognizes outstanding accomplishments of students in participating high schools for their achievements in academic and extra-curricular activities.
Torri is an academically gifted student who is active in many extracurricular activities, sports and enjoys spending time with her family and friends. Torri has been inducted into the SCA Honor Society and has maintained Distinguished Honor Roll throughout her high school career. Torri serves at SCA as the Student Council Treasurer, Class President and is Co-editor of the yearbook. Torri has played varsity basketball, soccer and participated on the SCA track team. During basketball she has served as team captain, earned the high scorer award, high rebounder award, earned her 1000 point during the 2014-2015 season, was named Tournament MVP at the 2014 ACAA Basketball Championships and has been selected as an ACAA Basketball All-Star. In soccer Torri has earned the Assist Leader Award and was selected as an ACAA Soccer All-Star as well as being selected as a team captain.
Torri volunteers her time at the Expectations Women’s Center, is active in her youth group, has served on short term missions work and has donated to Locks of Love six times. Torri can juggle and enjoys collecting stuff turtles.
Torri is planning on attending Baptist Bible College this fall, where she will major in Early Childhood/Elementary Education. Congratulations Torri!
