Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

The Anatomy/Physiology and Junior Health classes had an exciting opportunity to see first-hand what the human body looks like on the inside! The students visited the cadaver lab at Pennsylvania College of Technology and learned about human anatomy from Dr. Allar, a biology professor at Penn Tech. SCA students observed several human cadavers and saw examples of different heart pathologies and medical interventions, including a pacemaker, heart bypass, and the plaque that causes atherosclerosis.   The students did a great job on their “pop quiz” on anatomy, and learned more about the physician assistant program at Penn Tech. This visit certainly impacted our students—one SCA junior commented, “Now I REALLY want to make sure that I take care of my body!” Thank you, Dr. Allar, and Penn Tech, for a vivid demonstration of how marvelously intricate and complex our Creator has made the human body.
