Karch Carey is named a GSVCC Young American

Karch Carey, a senior at SCA has been named a March Young American. The Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Daily Item sponsor the Young American Program. The Young American Program recognizes outstanding accomplishments of students in participating high schools for their achievements in academic and extra-curricular activities.

Karch is an outstanding student at SCA and enjoys working with horses, hunting and playing sports.  Karch has been inducted into the SCA Honor Society. Karch has been a member of the soccer team since seventh grade and was co-captain of the team during his Junior and Senior years. Karch has also played basketball since sixth grade. He was co-captain for the team during his Junior and Senior years. Karch was selected as an ACAA All-star in both his Junior and Senior years on the team. He was MVP for the Buddy Morningstar Basketball Tournament and earned the Coach’s Award for basketball. Karch has volunteered his time with various service projects with his youth group and school. He has also gone to Guatemala on a missions trip.

Karch is planning on attending college in the fall and is planning on majoring in either Physical Therapy or Federal Law Enforcement.
