SCA at Juniata

The Lady Eagles were able to pull through on offense tonight as they posted a much needed victory into the win column. The Lady Lions opened up the scoring with a late first half goal. Minutes later Cierra Gross found the back of the net to even things out at 1-1. Juniata responded with another first half goal as they went into halftime up 2-1. The Lady Eagles were able to stay strong on defense to keep the Lady Lions out of the net. Faith Gingrich evened the game up at 2-2 midway through the second half. With pressure coming from both sides Christy Powlus was able to pull out the game winner as the Lady Eagles finished ahead 3-2.

The guys struggled with first touches tonight as they lost possession on a few key plays. This allowed the Lions to keep the game tight and scoreless through much of the first half. The Lions struck first with a quick shot from the right side, it looked like goal keeper Patrick Slackman was able to get his hands on it but it took a quick curve and found the back of the net. The Eagles were able to keep their composure as they answered with their own goal three minutes later as both teams headed into halftime tied at 1. The second half was quick paced as both teams could not capitalize on shots or set plays with the buzzer sounding to end the game with a 1-1 draw.

The SCA teams will have a day off before they head up to Bloomsburg Christian for their next match on the pitch. Come on out and cheer our teams on at this next game!
