The Lady Eagles suffered a tough 5-1 loss during their season opener at NCS on Tuesday despite stellar performances by newcomers Marissa Spangler, Becky Gingrich and veteran Brianna “Tater” Baumert to name a few. The team is looking forward to regrouping for Thursday’s home match up against Muhlenburg Christian School.

Starting the season with three starters on the injured list always makes things interesting when rookies get to start. 7th Grade rookies Conner Carey, Josiah Miller and Derek Mathews all got to start today’s game against NCS. The Eagles were holding their own for the first 15 minutes until the defense cleared the ball as it was heading into the SCA net and hit the top post to bounce out. Officials called it a goal for NCS. The Eagles continued to play tough and were only down by 2 at the half. Blake Spangler-Jones scored on a penalty kick six minutes into the second half. As time wound down the Eagles finished with a 5-1 loss.

Next game is at home with Muhlenburg Christian visiting.
