Tanner Gutelius is named a January Young American

Tanner Gutelius, a senior at SCA has been named a January Young American. The Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce and the Daily Item sponsor the Young American Program. The Young American Program recognizes outstanding accomplishments of students in participating high schools for their achievements in academic and extra-curricular activities.

Tanner is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys hunting, trapping and fishing. Tanner has been the student council chaplain for the past two years and is also the senior class student council representative. Tanner has been inducted into the SCA Honor Society and has earned distinguished honor roll each semester since his freshman year. Tanner has been a member of the soccer team since seventh grade and has been named an ACAA All-Star for the past two years. Tanner volunteers his time with Samaritans Purse, working with the younger kids groups at his church and has been on various missions trips. Tanner is planning on attending Messiah College in the fall and would like to return to the valley after graduation. Congratulations Tanner!
