Two SCA Students Place 1st & 2nd in Chamber of Commerce Essay Contest

An Essay was written by the juniors and seniors to enter a writing contest sponsored by the Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce. The topic of the essay was “Quality Education: the right and the responsibility”. According to the chamber, a total of fifty-four essays were entered into the contest from the surrounding school districts. The deadline for the 250 word essay was September 26.

On October 26 we received word that two of our students placed in the contest. Tiffany Billings a junior at SCA earned second place for her essay with a score of 55.3 out of 60. Tiffany will receive a $200.00 check for her second place essay. Gatlyn Troutman a junior at SCA was the first place winner with a score of 58 out of 60. Gatlyn will receive a $500.00 check for his first place essay.
